Electric cars : European car makers seek help of Goverments

Several electric cars were presented in the Frankfurt Fair, and many new models come in the coming months. Car manufacturers have invested billions of euros in the evolution and production of electric cars, and the next step is to climb sales. For this to happen, governments in every country in Europe will have to help expand the charging points for electric cars and provide subsidies for cheaper EV.

German automakers accelerate electric vehicle launches to achieve a 37.5% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions between 2021 and 2030 (in addition to reducing emissions by 40% between 2007 and 2021).

Carlos Tavares, who is also president of the European Automobile Association ACEA said:
Our car industry is willing to move as quickly as possible towards electrification, but this transition is a shared responsibility. A 360-degree approach is required. Governments across the EU must keep up with the growing pace at which electric cars will be launched while increasing investment in infrastructure.
