Germany needs more offshore wind farms to cover carbon loss

The withdrawal of the German coal units can certainly only be done if the country strengthens the expansion of its offshore wind, as evidenced by a study by the BWO and Enervis Association. In particular, the study showed that for each gigawatt of conventional power withdrawn, 0.3-0.4 gigawatt offshore wind installations would be needed during this period.

According to Cleanenergywire, this means that the power of offshore wind farms must be increased by at least 18.8 gigawatts to 2030, versus 15 gigawatts which is the current plan. Otherwise, one of the two national targets of 2030 should be sacrificed, either that of RES, or that of pollutants.
