With the global automaker preparing to move electrically to the majority, the charging options-especially in Europe are distinguished by their variety. So the owners of the purely electric CORSA-e, which will be circulating on European roads from the spring of 2020, do not have to worry, as Opel offers the appropriate charging options.
The possibility of multiple charging options is as important as the faster charging times, with the Corsa-e ensuring both thanks to powerful integrated chargers. In Germany, the Corsa-e from edition and above is equipped with a three-phase built-in 11 kW charger.
In countries where a three-phase outlet is less widespread, a single-phase built-in 7.4 kW charger, which is offered as standard with Corsa-e Selection, is available as an alternative. In addition, standard equipment in all versions of Corsa-E allows the use of fast charging stations up to 100 kW.
When it comes to Corsa-e prospective buyers who prefer the most convenient solution of instant and easy home recharge, they use a "mode 2" cable for the standard 1.8 kW household outlet. At the same time, during a trip, various "mode 3" cables, fully compatible with the built-in chargers, are available for public charging.
The "Global charging cable" combines the functions of the mode 2 (1,8kW) and Mode 3 cables as well as the wall panel on one device. This mobile charging device can be connected to almost all household sockets and public charging stations with its adapters, and all that is needed at home is a conventional electrical outlet for charging up to 11 kW.
DC charging stations are proving to be faster and are usually installed along the motorway. With charging power up to 100 kW, after about 12 minutes the autonomy increases by 100 km, while in less than 30 minutes, the battery can be recharged up to 80% of its capacity.
