Uber Air : Trial flights in 2020 to Australia

The well-known US multinational carrier Uber has announced the appointment of Natalie Malligan as the new head of Uber Air for Australia. It also announced that it would aim to realize the company's ambitious civil aviation plans, in collaboration with the Victorian Government, Melbourne Airport, Federal Aviation Services and Melbourne communities, to launch Uber Air next year.

Melbourne, in particular, is the third city to test the service and the first outside the United States. The plan is to launch pilot flights in 2020 and public flights from 2023. The countries that will be tested next are Australia, Brazil, France, India and Japan.

A company spokesman said that Uber's vision is long-term, safe and quiet electric vehicles that will carry tens of thousands of passengers to different cities, with the same prices as a UberX. Malligan that pre-existed at Uber as head of the Australian and New Zealand market has work in the past as a manager at Bain and Company in San Francisco and Sydney.
