Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has quietly brought in the new B-Class or the W247 Series of B-Class to Malaysia. It is now open for booking and there will only be limited numbers only per year. This was what I heard from a few of my friends who are sales advisors based at local Mercedes-Benz dealerships in and around Kuala Lumpur. Only one variant is being offered here, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz B 200

Electric Mercedes-Benz EQV MPV has autonomy of 405 km
The first time we saw the concept of Mercedes-Benz EQV was at the Geneva Motor site in 2019. The final production vehicle is powered by an electric motor with a power of 150kW (204 PS/201 hp), 362 Nm (267lb-ft) torque and energy recovery technology. Moving in a straight path, the electric MPV catches a final 160 km/h, according to the automobile industry.
In Mercedes-Benz EQV The lithium-ion battery is placed in the space under the floor so as not to affect the handling or the internal space. In addition, with a capacity of 90 kWh it provides 405 km of autonomy. The electric MPV has an 11kW and 110kW charging with which it restores to 45 minutes from 10% to 80% of the battery.
Visually, the new Mercedes-Benz EQV looks almost identical to the concept we saw at the Geneva Motor show, with inclined headlights that frame the large grille with horizontal grates. The front and rear bumpers have changed and the 18-inch wheels are less colourful.
The interior of the Mercedes-Benz EQV is more practical than that of the concept, with the car industry remodeling the space under the center console and moving the front armrests further back. The MBUX entertainment system with a 10-inch display provides access to various features and supports voice control.
Those interested in acquiring their own Mercedes-Benz EQV should choose between two different lengths of MPV: 5.140 mm and 5.370 mm with 3.200 mm or 3.430 mm wheelbase, respectively. In addition, the interior is adaptable and supports the installation of individual or single rear seats, providing space for up to 9 passengers.

MPVs and SUVs as well as the beloved Volvo Brick
A normal 4 door car would have less glass panels and basically cost slightly cheaper than a MPV. They are larger than a normal family car which means that the energy expanded to fabricate a MPV chassis is at least 50% more than a normal car. Hence, these vehicles actually take up more of earth’s valuable resources than is needed. They also take up so much more space (up to ½ a car extra) on the roads than a normal car and is not used for anything other than transporting the driver to and from his office in downtown
But the reason I don’t hate SUVs so much is that they are not as dull looking as a MPV. You will never look as though you are a man with 4 children and a wife or two if you park your SUV (especially some Porsche Cayenne, a Mitsubishi Airtrek Turbo or an Audi Q7) in front of a hip bistro in Sri Hartamas or Bangsar. You are never going to be hip and cool even if you’re dressed in Armani and wearing Ferragamo loafers if you’ve stepped out of a Toyota Unser. Heck, even if you did step out of a Toyota Alphard, the girls would know that you’re married or a family man and don’t own or have a Lancer Evo or a Ferrari that you can take out to the bistro for the night out. And that, ladies and gentlemen, means you’re very unavailable to the opposite sex, hence uncool. Feel free to say otherwise, but if you don’t agree with me, you most probably are an MPV owner.
Every man should dream of doing something cheap but outrageous. This is my dream (or one of my dreams that is).
