About darn time. Hyundai Sime Darby Motors finally brings in the Hyundai Veloster Turbo. The Veloster Turbo, is the first Hyundai vehicle to be fitted with the 1.6-litre T-GDI engine delivering power, superior efficiency, lower emissions and higher reliability. Producing 186 PS horsepower and 265 Nm of torque, the 1.6L Veloster Turbo delivers top speed of 214 kph and acceleration from 0-100 kph in 8 seconds. Maximum torque is delivered between 1,500 rpm and 4,500 rpm.
Mated to a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) that is developed in-house by Hyundai Motor Company, the Veloster Turbo features steering wheel mounted paddle-shifters, SHIFTRONIC® transmission gear control which is performance-tuned. This transmission was specifically engineered to handle the increased torque output from the turbocharged engine. The Veloster Turbo's 7-speed DCT was tuned especially to achieve higher torque and performance calibration. To make sure everything works well, the Veloster Turbo's chassis gets firmer dampers ensure improved body control.

Hyundai’s Enhanced 2+1 Sporty Coupe Features A New Powerful Turbocharged Engine and 7-speed Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission
KUALA LUMPUR, 17 April 2015 – Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) launched its all-new 1.6L Veloster Turbo sporty coupe, featuring Hyundai’s latest cutting-edge technology at its new Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) boutique showroom in Bangsar today.
The Veloster Turbo, which combines a high-compression, twin-scroll turbocharger and a GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) system, is also the first Hyundai vehicle to be fitted with the 1.6-litre T-GDI engine delivering more power, superior efficiency, lower emissions and higher reliability. Driving comfort has greatly improved with the incorporation of Flex Steer System on the steering wheel that enables drivers to choose from normal, comfort or sports mode. The installation of the Hood Insulator Pad and added Acoustic Absorption Material contribute to cabin quietness.
While maintaining its unique 1+2 door layout, the 1.6L Veloster Turbo is further enhanced with new HID projector headlamps coupled with daytime running lights, radiator grille and new LED rear light. The rear bumper is redesigned with rear fog lamps and it is also sportier than ever with the inclusion of round twin exhausts, a diffuser as well as a longer and wider rear spoiler that comes integrated with a LED brake light. The Veloster Turbo is also fitted with a new 18-inch alloy wheel design.
Inside, you will find an exclusive Supervision Gauge Cluster that feeds the driver information on a larger, clearer screen located between the tachometer and speedometer. Like all Veloster models, the Turbo variant includes standard keyless entry with push-button ignition, 60:40 folding rear seats, a 7-inch Color Thin Film Transistor (TFT) touch pad display, incorporating media centre, premium sound system (six speakers, a central speaker and a subwoofer) and panorama sunroof. All Velosters feature a reverse parking camera with parking guidance for superior parking visibility. Customers can also opt for the 1.6L Veloster Turbo Sport variant for an even sportier look with new sports seats in two-tone colours of Orange and Black as well as the word “Turbo” stitched onto the side bolsters which help to deliver a distinctive appearance while providing higher levels of comfort and support. Apart from that, the Turbo Sport variant also gets sporty car decal stickers.
The Veloster Turbo also features the latest active and passive safety technologies to ensure maximum protection for its occupants. It has an exceptional level of standard safety features highlighted by Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, which optimally manages Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and the Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS). These features help the driver maintain control of the vehicle in slippery road conditions or during fast cornering. It is also equipped with Hill Assist Control (HAC), which is designed to minimise rolling backwards on steep ascents. All Veloster variants are also fitted with six airbags – including dual front, front seat-mounted side impact, and front and rear side curtain airbags.
Apart from the Turbo edition, the Veloster is also available in regular 1.6L Multi-Point Injection (MPI) engine which comes only in the Premium variant. Pricing for all variants are as follows (*Pricing listed are on the road prices inclusive of GST but exclude insurance):-

Five new colours are introduced to complement the refreshed new look namely Storm Trooper (White), Young Gun (Matte Black), Phantom Black, Sunflower (Yellow) and Veloster Red. Additional colours available for the regular 1.6L Veloster Premium include Vitamin C and Green Apple. All Veloster models are fully imported from South Korea.
HSDM offers a 5-year or 300,000km (whichever comes first) extended warranty on all its new passenger vehicles. A 24-hour road assist service is also now available to new and existing Hyundai vehicles.

Sime Darby Auto Hyundai’s (SDAH) Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) boutique showroom in Bangsar is the first of its kind in the Klang Valley featuring Hyundai’s global unified design.
The new GDSI design, inspired by nature, features an open showroom with floor-to-ceiling glass walls and vertical greens in the interior. It is also visually appealing with the application of a subtle bronze look on the exterior and a modern architecture design. The interior includes modern furniture, new lounge chairs and warm lights that offer customers a comfortable and comforting environment.
The new showroom design further strengthens Hyundai’s Modern Premium brand concept aimed at improving customer service, brand experience and the overall dealership appearance for visitors.
