Volkswagen's 'Polo Goes Zero' promotion for Uber Partners in Malaysia
This is something Malaysian Uber Partners (i.e Drivers) to upgrade (or you may never know, downgrade) their rides into the Volkswagen Polo 1.6 Hatch and Polo Sedan at zero percent (0%) intrest and zero (0) downpayment for a total of seven years via Volkswagen Malaysia's 'Polo Goes Zero' Campaign.
Participating Uber Partners will be able to receive a discount of RM200 from their first scheduled service and also a year's free road tax (since its 1.6, RM90). Of course, the usual terms and conditions apply. Ask questions before taking the plunge.
I'd have to say that the Volkswagen Polo 1.6 (sedan and hatch) are my favourite Volkswagen sold in Malaysia. It is simple and robust because it has a simple but torquey 1.6 liter engine. It also has a traditional automatic gearbox which means it is also long lasting too. These two items plus the overall German feel makes this a very decent purchase. So if any Uber Partner is interested, go ahead and have a look and see.
Your Opportunity to be Chauffeured in German Engineering
KUALA LUMPUR, 8 April 2015 – Volkswagen Malaysia is working with Uber to give existing Uber Partners an opportunity to upgrade their rides through a special package available from now until April 30.
Uber Partners can purchase the Polo 1.6 and Polo Sedan at zero interest and zero down payment from RM999 monthly for seven years via Volkswagen’s ‘Polo Goes Zero’ campaign.
In addition to the special pricing, this collaboration will enable Uber Partners to receive a discount of RM200 from their first scheduled maintenance and free road tax (worth RM90).
“Uber seamlessly connects riders to drivers who provide a safe, comfortable and reliable service. With our partners potentially using Volkswagen’s high quality cars we know our riders would appreciate its finesse associated with the brand,” said Leon Foong, General Manager of, Uber Kuala Lumpur.
The Volkswagen Polo 1.6 and Polo Sedan have three key common features: four automatic power windows with anti-pinch function, six-speed auto transmission, and an Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS) which will automatically unlock all doors, turn off power to the fuel pump, and turn on the hazard lights when an airbag is deployed or a safety belt tensioner fires. Both Polo models come in five different colours, Candy White, Flash Red, Pepper Grey, Reflex Silver and Deep Black.
The Polo 1.6 and Polo Sedan are priced at RM 89,888 and RM 91,888 respectively. For more information, please visit www.volkswagen.com.my
To be eligible to participate in this promotion, Uber Partners have to provide their latest Uber Statement for verification. You can also log-on to partners.uber.com to sign up as an Uber partner with the promo code “ubervwpolo”.

2014 Volkswagen Polo 1.6 Hatchback - Short in-car video clip.
We have been spending some time with this little Volkswagen Polo 1.6 Hatchback. We've taken it grocery shopping, on the school run, to appointments, shown it to our family members, friends, gone through some horrendous traffic and the pouring rain with some flooding as well as over to our favourite stretches of roads around Gombak, Selayang and Genting Sempah. Nothing broke. Which is a good thing in a car. Any car.
But before we go on to our full fledged review (which should come sometime soon) here's a short in-car clip of it being driven over some twists and turns.
UPDATED: The review is already out. Go there by clicking HERE.
