Recently in Berlin, the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, met with Germany's chancellor, Angela Merkel. Among other, the two leaders discussed a new wave of green investments that will help the country grow faster. During the meeting, Mr. Mitsotakis and Mrs. Merkel agreed to the elaboration of a green investment plan that will take place in the Decade 2020 – 2030.
The two leaders discussed the realisation of a large wave of investment in key areas for the environment. These areas concern renewable energy sources, various environmentally friendly actions, and in particular the electrification where our country presents relative advantages.
Also, the two finance ministers, as well as all the joint ministers, are called up to the next investment Forum in early 2020 to have already coordinated the next steps towards the start of implementing the agreement. A particularly important point of the meeting and a major step towards tackling the effects of climate change is that the German Chancellor has shown to accept the importance of the rescEU initiative, which was quite Cautious so far.
