This is the first time that a purely electric car such as Tesla Model 3 is ranked 3rd in the overall ranking of the top 10 selling models in Britain, where it is the second largest car market in Europe after Germany. So, on August with 2,082 sales the Tesla Model 3 was found in front of the Ford Focus which was in 4th place as well as the Mercedes A-Class found in the 5th place of the model table in the highest sales.
The success of the smaller Tesla model "launched" and the total sales of electric cars in Britain that rose by 337% and amounted to 3,147 units. The record was greeted by environmentalists who have pointed out that: "Tesla Model 3 was the car found in the 3rd place of the highest-selling model table".

The Tesla Model 3 was also Europe's most popular electric car in the first half with sales amounting to 37,227 units, according to JATO Dynamics data. Renault Zoe was found in second place with 23,914 units followed by the Nissan Leaf.
