MARIE SJÖDIN ENSTRÖM APPOINTED AS THE NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR OF SCANIA SOUTHEAST ASIA
Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, 1 July – Scania CV AB has appointed the experienced Marie Sjödin Enström as the new Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia.
She replaces James Armstrong who has ended his five-year tenure and will now be assigned as Managing Director of Scania Central European Region, based in Prague, Czech Republic.
A Swede, Marie began her career with Scania in 1984. Her last position was as Managing Director of Scania Assistance at Scania CV AB, Sweden where she was the global head and was responsible for eight centres in Europe and Latin America.
Prior to that, Marie was Chief Financial Officer at Scania Australia where she was responsible for all financial activities, corporate governance, insurance and control in the company, as well as being deputy to the Managing Director. Married with two children, Marie relishes the opportunity in this region in her new position.

Her experience in various key positions in various countries will add to the current experienced Scania Southeast Asia team. The team continues to cover wholly-owned markets of Malaysia and Singapore; and also presides over independent dealers and distributors in the Export markets like Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. They will continue to uphold the Scania Core Values – customers first, respect for the individual and quality – and continue to improve Scania products and services for our customers.
Marie arrives at Scania in this country and region at an exciting time. The new and improved Scania Assistance Malaysia and Singapore number and system was launched to track and follow-up on the status of customer cases from start to completion; keeping customers informed throughout the entire process so that they can best manage their fleet.
Scania Fleet Management in Malaysia was also launched to help customers gain the best control over their operational cost. Customers in Malaysia are already getting more value out of their Scania – all new vehicles ordered today comes with 2-years free Scania Maintenance, 2-years free Scania Assistance and 10-years free Scania Fleet Management.
For the first time in Malaysia this year, Scania also introduced the “First Class” Scania Marcopolo complete coach and the “Fit for Tough Work” Scania Construction Truck range.
Soon to come will be the expansion of work bays at the Scania service centre in Port Klang, Malaysia. There will also be a new service centre in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia and Benoi in Singapore; all to improve the Services network coverage and support our customers’ operations throughout the country and region.
Scania’s commitment to elevating the status of drivers in Malaysia and Singapore in the area of safe and fuel-efficient driving will continue at the bi-annual Scania Driver Competition later this year.
